Logging Sports Shines at Paul Smith’s Meet with Women’s First Place Finish

PAUL SMITH'S, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College logging sports team showcased an impressive performance at the Paul Smith's College meet, with the women's team taking home the top prize, securing a first-place finish over competitors from SUNY ESF and Paul Smith's. The men's team put forth a solid effort as well, finishing third overall, while the open division claimed second place.

The women's team dominated across multiple events, with Mackenzie Ferris leading the way in the Single Buck event and Jordis Wojikowski claiming victory in the Super Swede. Morgan Cheney excelled in the Triathlon, while Grace Christiaansen's precision in the Axe Throw brought in another win. The women also took first place in both the Team Bowsaw and Team Cross-Cut.

The men's team had strong showings in the Team Bowsaw, thanks to the combined efforts of Asher McKnatt, Paul Pereira, Jon Nicholson, James Tokasz, Adam Tylock, and Teaghan Aroneseno. James Tokasz delivered a standout performance in the Triathlon, while Teaghan Aroneseno topped the Cookie Stack event, adding to the men's highlights of the day.

For Finger Lakes, it marks another strong start to their season on the women's side following a dominant showing last season.
