BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College women's soccer team saw their 6-game win streak come to an end Sunday afternoon at the hand of the Hornets of SUNY Broome Community College. The #7 Lakers went into the matchup facing a tall task in the Hornet, who just a week ago held the #10 position in the NJCAA Division III women's soccer standings.
Ella Lewis (Lyndonville, N.Y./ Lyndonville) picked up the lone goal for the Lakers off from a penalty kick in the 11th minute. Lewis continues her strong season, in which she has scored 16 goals and dished 1 assist for 33 points.
Sophomore goalie Grace Hall (Honeoye, N.Y./ Honeoye) dropped only her second game in goal, making 10 saves in 90 minutes of play.
The Lakers hit the road at Bryant & Stratton - Syracuse on September 28th at 4 pm where they will look to get back on track before returning home on October 1st against the Onondaga Lazers.
