CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College women's soccer team returned home for a match against the SUNY Broome Community College Hornets. On sophomore day, Kailee Lewis (Bloomfield, N.Y./ Bloomfield) netted her first goal and the team's first goal of the season in a 3-1 loss.
Sophomore Quynn Tallman (Canandaigua, N.Y./ Canandaigua) earned the start in goal and did not disappoint in a breakout performance. Tallman would make 18 saves against a flurry of Hornets shots on goal to help keep the game within reach.
Freshman Emily Neuenschwander (Hamilton, N.Y./ Hamilton) moved away from her normal goalie position to join the Lakers attack, earning a shot on goal in the process. Sophomore teammate Natalie Lecceardone (Manchester, N.Y./ Red Jacket) made her mark in her first start of the season, finishing with a shot on goal.
Despite another tough loss, the Lakers will look ahead to a home match with the visiting St. John Fisher University Cardinals this coming Wednesday, September 27th at 6 PM at the FLCC multi-use turf facility.
