CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College Women's Volleyball team improved to 9-3 Tuesday night with a win over the Jayhawks of Jamestown Community College.
Sophomore Brandy Morrison (Macedon, N.Y./ Palmyra-Macedon) led the Lakers with 15 points and 14 kills, 12 digs and 1 ace. Freshman Emma Sipos (Canandaigua, N.Y./ Canandaigua) added 7 points on the night with 5 kills, 9 digs and 2 aces.
Freshman Oona O'Brien (Canandaigua, N.Y./ Canandaigua) helped lead the Lakers to victory with 8 kills and 8 digs, while teammate Jenna Wallace (Baldwinsville, N.Y./ Baldwinsvile) had a night, adding 5 digs, 21 assists and 6 aces for the team.
The Lakers return to the court when they travel to Cayuga Community College Saturday Oct. 9th for a 11 A.M. match. Despite dropping out of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III national rankings, the Lakers still remain amongst one of the areas best squads.
