Women's Volleyball Sweeps Regional Opponent

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - Finger Lakes Community College Women's Volleyball completed a 3-0 sweep over Regional opponent Monroe Community College on Tuesday, Oct. 19th in the Putt Moore Gymnasium. The Lakers even the series against the Tribunes after falling to the team earlier in the season, 3 sets to 2. Women's Volleyball picked up the win in three sets with scores of 28-25, 25-16, 25-17.

The Lakers were led by Freshman Jenna Wallace (Baldwinsville, N.Y./ Baldwinsville) who had a big night, adding 41 assists, 25 digs and 1 ace. Sophomore Brandy Morrison (Macedon, N.Y./ Palmyra-Macedon) followed up her consistent play contributing 17 kills, 10 digs and 3 block assists. 

Freshman Oona O'Brien (Canandaigua, N.Y./ Canandaigua) added 12 kills, 10 digs and 1 ace while teammate Emma Sipos (Canandaigua, N.Y./ Canandaigua) added 10 kills, 12 digs and 1 ace.

The Lakers win improves the team's record to 14-5 on the season as they close in on the Region III playoffs. The Lakers play their regular season finale Saturday, Oct. 23rd when Hudson Valley Community College comes to campus.
