Dunstan’s First-Place Finish Earns MSAC Runner of the Year

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College cross country team had an impressive showing at the Mid-State Athletic Conference (MSAC) Championship on their home Bruce Bridgeman course Saturday morning. 

The highlight of the day came from freshman Kayla Dunstan, who claimed the MSAC Runner of the Year honors with a first-place finish in the women's 5K race, posting a time of 25:31. Fellow freshman Alana Bedell earned MSAC All-Conference honors, finishing in third place with a time of 29:49.

On the men's side, Zachary Lester led the Lakers with a strong fourth-place finish, completing the 5K in 20:06. Teammate Edarius Trimble followed closely behind, finishing sixth with a time of 20:35. Both Lester and Trimble secured MSAC All-Conference honors. Rounding out the men's performances, Griffin Miller placed ninth with a time of 21:09.2, while Timothy Vilkhu finished 12th at 22:06.2.

The Lakers will continue their season as they prepare for the upcoming NJCAA Region III Championships at Herkimer County Community College next Saturday, October 26th.
