Dunstan, Lester Lead the Way With All-Region Finishes

HERKIMER, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College cross country team delivered standout performances at the 2024 Region III Championships at Herkimer County Community College, with Zachary Lester and Kayla Dunstan finishing in the top 10 and earning NJCAA Region III All-Region honors.

On the men's side, Zachary Lester led the Lakers with a 9th-place finish, clocking in at 30:32.6. He was joined by Edarius Trimble, who secured 17th in 32:30.8, Griffin Miller with a 22nd-place time of 33:06.1, and Timothy Vilkhu, who crossed the line in 35:25, finishing 32nd overall.

Kayla Dunstan earned 6th place for the women's squad with an impressive time of 23:49.6, securing her All-Region recognition. Teammates Madisyn Everdyke and Alana Bedell rounded out the Lakers' showing, finishing in 13th and 14th with times of 26:22.5 and 28:10.8, respectively.

Both teams showed strong finishes, making their mark in the Region III competition. Next up for the Lakers is the NJCAA Division III National Championships at Pole Green Park in Richmond, VA. where they will look to make their mark on the national stage.
