Logging Sports Men and Women Take Second Place

COBLESKILL, N.Y. - The Lakers logging sports team made an impressive showing during their trip to SUNY Cobleskill on Saturday, April 15th. Both the men's and women's divisions secured second place finishes in a closely contested competition against the opposing teams.

The Lakers women's division demonstrated exceptional skill, securing second place in the overall standings with a total of 971.92 points. SUNY ESF claimed the top spot with 1024.59 points, while Paul Smiths secured third place with 784.33 points, and UCONN settled for fourth place with 499.43 points.

Building on their strong performance in the fall, the Lakers women's division earned top placements in multiple categories. They secured first place in Bowsaw with an impressive average time of 85.49 seconds, as well as in Pulp Toss with an average time of 114.02 seconds. Additionally, the Lakers claimed first place in Packboard Fire Build with an average time of 405.16 seconds. They also secured second place finishes in Cross Cut to Hell (37.20), Singles Relay (210.67), Crosscut (40.79), Underhand Chop (250.96), Standing Block (88.46), and Log Roll (97.38).

The Lakers men's division also showed up and performed to the occasion, earning a second place finish in the standings with a total of 892.31 points. SUNY ESF took first place in the men's division as well, with 936.09 points, sweeping the men's and women's division trophies. 

The men's division claimed the top spot in two events, including the Crosscut event with a time of 21.16, followed by a first place position in the Bowsaw event with a time of 46.30. The Lakers displayed their strength and endurance in the Packboard Fire Build, claiming second place with a time of 568.32, just 2 seconds short of the first place finisher, the Ranger School, who clocked a time of 566.05.
