Women's Logging Wins Team Title at Alfred State

ALFRED, N.Y. — The Finger Lakes men’s and women’s logging sports teams competed in the 11th annual Pioneer Woodsmen’s Meet at Alfred State on Saturday, with the Laker women winning the team title and the Laker men placing third.

FLCC’s women’s team captured first place in both the team crosscut and team bow saw competitions, while Hannah Schaubert (axe throw), Jenna Wallace (disk stack), Kaitlyn Hoitt (stock saw), Maddie Lippert (super Swede) finished first in their singles events, and Hoity and Schaubert took first in doubles barrel splitting.

For the men, Dylan Howell (disk stack) and Kevin Roelle (obstacle pole) won their singles events, while Nick Williams took second in the axe throw. Howell and John Bateman placed second in doubles barrel splitting, while the Lakers had solid showings in both the team log roll and team pulp toss events.
