Finger Lakes Community College Rifle Team

During the 1983-84 school year, Finger Lakes Community College sponsored a competitive Pistol and Rifle Team. The team was coached by Charles F. Moyer. He was an associate professor in the Physical Education department at FLCC. Records of the team are scarce but they did document a pair of participants.

Robert Terry LaMotle was a criminal law major from Clifton Springs, NY. He competed in multiple Air Force Competitions and was a Small Arms Instructor for the United States Air Force.

Chuck Abbott of Canandaigua joined LaMotle as a teammate. Abbot was a Conservation major and only had private hunting experience prior to the team.

Although no results, there is documentation that Finger Lakes competed in numerous events during the school year. They include events hosted by the US Military Academy, Kings College, MIT, and the NCAA Championships hosted by West Virginia University.
